Awesome product for a necessary vent
It took a bird getting into the attic space for me to finally seek a solution to the 4 decades old 2” vent holes in the soffit of my sons home. I needed 44 vents and 90% of them installed flawlessly without any intervention required. The remainder required a piece of tape wrapped around the body of the vent, which helped the device fit snuggly in the ever-so slightly larger soffit holes. While these were purchased to solve problems with attic vents whose original (internal) screen had degraded or broken, the additional benefit was how well the painted vent complimented the home decor. The home looks ‘finished’ now.

Well made product
Very well made product. I use this on the furnace vent pipe to keep birds and bees from building nests in the summer.

Great Product
Used for the hot water heater vent pipe, furnace vent pipe, and furnace air intake in order to prevent birds and other insect from going into the pipes. Fits perfectly in a scheduled 40 2" PVC pipe.

I wish my builder had used a 2" hole saw
I had a rat problem. They had chewed through the fiberglass screen on some of the rafter end blocks and took up housekeeping in my attics. From the ground, the 3 holes in my rafter end blocks looked to be about 2" in diameter, so I ordered a couple of vent styles (RWS100, RWS108) to check the fit and to see how the screens differed. I was worried the rats could push out the vents, or (since "insect screen" material wasn't specified) chew through the screen. But not to worry about them getting pushed out of MY holes. Or pushed in; perched on a ladder, I couldn't get these vents into the holes. I first suspected just ragged holes, but finally resorted to measuring the holes, and they all turned out to be 1 7/8". On to Plan B for me. But the vent plugs themselves seem very well made, of high quality, and are would be attractive. If you really have 2" holes, I recommend them highly. Note to vendor: A "sample bag" of 6 different vents would be very useful to new customers. I'm glad I didn't order 500 of these...

Purpose and installation of round soffit vents
I found drilling the holes for vents to work well using a speed bore. Biggest challenge was with the west facing side of the 1977 house where the wood was cured and hard. All went well with adding bar soap as a lubricant. Installing the vent was just a slight push and the vent was set. Minor touch up paint and the job was complete. Have already noticed a difference with the venting of the attic with cooler temps in the house and garage.
