Just What We Needed
We decided to vault the ceiling of our family room in a home with no overhangs/soffit. We had to install ventilation baffles and drill holes in our fascia to provide ventilation between the roof sheeting and the R38C insulation. We decided to drill three hole between each 16" on center roof rafter and install these discreet vents. They are good quality and the added "insect screen" is key! The holes were challenging to drill since we had a double aluminum wrapped double wood header to drill through, but the installation of the vents was a breeze. They push right in and look fantastic. They almost "blend in" to our aluminum fascia. You wouldn't even notice them unless you are actually looking for them. We did use a bead of 100% Silicone as an adhesive and extra layer of weather and insect resistance. The vents fit well into the holes and are held in place with the small tabs on the inner ring. However, the tabs are quite small. We had at least one of our 42 holes that "ovaled" just a bit from the tough drilling. The vents will be too loose if your hole is not fairly perfect. But, in a case like ours, the silicone makes up for the imperfection. If I had one suggestion, it would be for the "tabs" to be slightly larger.

Great vent and great advice
My home had these vents installed 30 years back. Covered in paint: no air flow. Found the exact product on VentMyHouse. Called to confirm the hole size and received excellent advice that the vent dimensions listed are the hole size, not the outside dimension of the vent.

I ordered these soffit vents as a replacement for the 40 year old screen covers. They not only fit perfectly but also improve the look 100%. I plan on ordering more to complete the entire house. By the way this company does give a military discount also. All you need to do is provide proof of a active military ID or DD214 for a 5% discount.
